BRIEF HISTORY:
Department of History and Archaeology is started in the year 1984. Shri.M.S.Naregal and A.C.Yaligar (deceased) appointed as a full time lecturer in History in 1985. Shri.T.S.Hulakannavar(deceased) and Shri B.V.Radhakrishna appointed as full time lecturer in History on 01-07-1989 and 03-07-1989 respectively.
The management filled the vacant post, Smt. S .K .Pujar and Dr. K. N. Karabari joined the Department as a full time lecturer from 21-07-2008. Smt.S. K. Pujar resigned her job on 03-09-2009 and joined Govt. First Grade College Mulagund. The performance of the department during post NAAC period is below. The student strength of the department is quite encouraging and also the performance. There are plenty of books in the library for readership.
Prof. M. S.Naregal awarded Ph.D degree on 01-01-2008 from Kannada University Hampi time. He has presented several research articles, attended seminars and published books. He is serving as SWO of college. He served as squad member and paper setter, KPSC exam evaluater. Prof. B. V. Radhakrishana attended seminar and associated with NGO’s. He is serving as cherman cultural association. Dr. K. N. Karabari attended seminars and he is assisting examination work.
Dr. M S Naregal Head Of Department who expired on 14-08-2020. Now Prof. Nagaraja Kadlabalu appointed as a Assistant Professor Of Department Of History and Archaeology on 30-07-2021.
